ani blitz!
connect, collect, and pop your favorite companions!
overview
ANI BLITZ! was a concept game that I thought of after seeing a friend play a puzzle game. It inspired me to use this idea for a project because I wanted to challenge myself with creating my own game. I revolved it around anime since I loved watching it and I was most familiar with the community. The project’s focal point was to develop a game for anime fans — such as myself — to enjoy playing.
challenge
There were many games dedicated to a specific anime, but rarely were there ones that had fun crossovers between characters from different anime series’. I wanted to take matters into my own hands and address this problem in a way that was appeasing to the fan community.
solution
I developed a puzzle game where users could play with a variety of fan‐favorite characters from multiple animes. I incorporated key features such as a leaderboard, collection tab, and background music featuring songs that were favored within the fandom. The gameplay was as simple as connecting three or more characters and using special abilities. I wanted the players to have a cozy yet engaging experience.

I went with a color palette that held Japanese undertones since the game was centered around anime, which originated from Japan.
